Teahen working to make more strides

5
Vote

Expectations are rising as third base prospect Mark Teahen begins his second season at the Major League level. Teahen's rookie campaign showed promise towards the end of season. Last year, in 130 games, Teahen hit 7 HRs and knocked in 55 RBIs. Although drafted for his eye, Teahen only walked 40 times in 447 AB, while striking out 107 times.

Teahen progressed more quickly than expected last season. Many expected that Teahen spend 2005 in Triple-A Omaha; however, after Chris Truby became injured, Teahen filled-in for the remainder of the season.
