Taylor Douthit (Taylor Lee Douthit) was born on April 22, 1901 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He made his Major League debut on September 14, 1923 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1924, his rookie year, he hit .277 with 0 home runs and 13 RBI. Douthit played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 11 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Taylor Douthit's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1930, when he hit for a .303 average and knocked in 93 runs. However, others believe that it was 1929, when he hit for a .336 average and knocked in 62 runs.
