Born on October 12, 1970 in Worcester, Massachusetts, Tanyon Sturtze (Tanyon James Sturtze) played for the Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees over the course of his 11 year career. Sturtze broke into the bigs on May 3, 1995 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 4.74 ERA in 68.1 innings pitched in 2000, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Tanyon Sturtze's best season was 2001, when he posted a 4.42 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 110 batters.
