Starting in 2008, the Tampa Bay baseball franchise will go by a slightly different name. They will drop the "Devil" part of the name and simply be referred to as the Tampa Bay Rays.
The newly renamed Rays are a team with a the best minor league system in baseball. They will look to move this talent into the Major League level over the next few years in order to compete with the powerful American League teams.
