Blue Jays rookie Casey Janssen continued his trend of good game/bad game/good game, as he struggled a little, but still got the win as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 6-4. After tossing 8 innings of 2-hit shutout ball in his last outing, Janssen allowed 4 runs in 6.2 innings while only striking out 3 and allowing 2 home runs. But he pitched well enough to get the win to improve to 3-3 with a 3.46 ERA on the season. His opponent, Seth McClung, fell to 2-5 by allowing 6 runs in 7 innings.
Several Blue Jays batters contributed to the win, but nont of them had more than 1 hit. Troy Glaus and Eric Hinske both homered. Gregg Zaun was 0-3, but knocked in 2 runners with 2 sac flies.
Tampa Bay, on the other hand, had 4 players with multi-hit games. Julio Lugo lead the way, going 3-5 with 2 doubles, a run scored, and an RBI. Lugo has brought his AVG up almost 50 points in the last ten days after missing the month of April and starting off slow. Russ Branyan and Josh Paul added home runs.
