Born on October 30, 1921 in Bynum, North Carolina, Ted Abernathy (Talmadge Lafayette Abernathy) played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 3 year career. Abernathy broke into the bigs on September 19, 1942 with the Philadelphia Athletics.
