Tal Maples (Talmadge Robert Maples) was born on December 3, 1910 in Knoxville, Tennessee. After going to high school at Knoxville (TN), Maples attended the University of Tennessee. Maples made his professional debut in the NFL in 1934 with the Cincinnati-St. Louis Reds-Gunners. He played for the Cincinnati-St. Louis Reds-Gunners for his entire 1 year career.
