Taffy Wright

Taffy Wright (Taft Shedron Wright) was born on August 10, 1911 in Tabor City, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1938 for the Washington Senators. In 1938, his rookie year, he hit .350 with 2 home runs and 36 RBI. Wright played for the Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 9 year career.
There is some disagreement on what was Taffy Wright's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1941, when he hit for a .322 average and knocked in 97 runs. However, others believe that it was 1940, when he hit for a .337 average and knocked in 88 runs.
