THE FIRST DRAFT OF HONOR CODE IS FINISHED!!
Introduction
While we are a wiki, and do value freedom, and no matter what the status of a user is, they have agreed to uphold the Terms of Service that they agreed to when they first started. Users should be reminded that no matter their true intent, it is the duty and decision of an Admin to decide any consequences for questionable actions. Users are expected to respect the decisions of the Admins, and Admins are expected to not make decisions on events that they were involved in. Questionable content, as listed in the Terms of Service, includes: [content] that is tortuous, threatening, harmful, hateful, unlawful, libelous, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, vulgar, obscene, contains viruses, or is otherwise objectionable or potentially damaging, as reasonably determined by ArmchairGM.com and its administrators.
Personal Attacks
Do not make personal attacks anywhere on ArmchairGM. Comment on the content of a post, not on the contributor. Personal damage the reputation of ArmchairGM throughout the entire blogsphere and internet.
Much of the ArmchairGM centers around debate. Very often, individual users disagree with the content within a particular post. Contributors often are members of opposing communities who express different viewpoints on a post and wish for their ideas to be well known. Expressing their views is an excellent way for other users to understand another’s point of view. We actively encourage users to express their viewpoints on multiple topics.
However, personal attacks are not accepted on ArmchairGM. Commenters should be civil and respectful toward the opinions and beliefs of another. Comments should not be personalized and should be directed at content rather than people.
Here are some examples of comments and personal attacks are never acceptable anywhere on ArmchairGM:
- Racial, sexual, homophobic, ageist, religious, political, ethnic, or other epithets (such as against disabled people) directed against another contributor. Disagreement over what constitutes a religion, race, sexual preference, or ethnicity is not a legitimate excuse.
- Using someone's affiliations as a means of dismissing or discrediting their views -- regardless of whether said affiliations are mainstream or extreme.
- Threats of legal action.
- Threats of violence, particularly death threats.
- Threats of vandalism to userpages or talk pages.
- Threats or actions which expose other ArmchairGM editors to political, religious or other persecution by government, their employer or any others. Violations of this sort may result in a block for an extended period of time, which may be applied immediately by any administrator upon discovery.
Disputes
Try to avoid heated arguments with other users. Whenever possible try to settle your disputes privately with the party involved. If a solution can be made than it is encouraged that you discuss this with an administrator.
Civility
Civility is a code of conduct for editing and writing edit summaries on all ArmchairGM pages. Users are encouraged to improve ArmchairGM’s encyclopedia by adding insightful information. However, they are expected to uphold ArmchairGM’s editing policy in doing so.
Users who do decide to add to the encyclopedia are expected to contribute factual, and unbiased, information.
Consequences for Violating the Honor Code
Any user who continues to engage in personal attacks toward other users and ignores the civility policy, will be blocked. A first-time offender will be given a warning by one of ArmchairGM’s administrators. On the second offense, he/she will be banned from ArmchairGM for an entire week. On the third offense he/she will be banned indefinitely.

End tyranny. Vote Briggs.
