T.O. Back to Being A Cancer

by Christof

Terrell Owens is back to his old tricks. The Dallas Cowboys star wide-reciever has again thrown his quarterback under the bus. This time, it happened in a Time Magazine interview.

The question was as follows:

"If you could choose any quarterback in the NFL to be the No. 1 in Dallas, who would it be and why?"

Mr. Owens answered this question by stating:

"Man, that's a tricky question. I don't want to cause trouble ... O.K., I would say Peyton Manning, then Donovan McNabb. Peyton has history on his side, with his dad being a quarterback, and you can't say enough about how studious he is in the film room.

Is anyone surprise that T.O. is throwing his latest QB under the bus? Sure, it is interesting to see that T.O. is trying to mend fences with McNabb now. A little too late for that.

Another surprise is the timing. I would have expected this type of attack on Tony Romo after the Cowboys have lost three regular season games. Nonetheless, the bombing occurred before the first game.

For those on thought the Cowboys are contenders and not pretenders, please revise your opinion. Mr. Owens is back to his old ways. The final outcome is never pretty when this occurs.

Well, it's his second year with the Cowboys. It's about time, based on his Philly timeline, for him to self-destruct and take the rest of the team with him.

How is that an attack on Romo. You wouldn't like to have Peyton as your #1 QB? Seriously, can you spell biased?

How is that an attack on Romo. I think anyone in the league including Romo would pick Peyton or McNabb over him. T.O. gets a bad rap, he answered honestly and now he's "throwing his QB under a Bus"?

That is not throwing your QB under the bus. This is an example of a bunch of T.O. haters throwing him under the bus. Any Wideout who says they dont want to play for a Peyton Manning is lieing through their teeth.

throwing his qb under the bus would have been a comment like...I'd take Peyton Manning cause our QB Romo is not a leader and really has no place in the game of football...oh yeah and Peyton is #1 go Colts. That would have been a comment that I would have cringed over...this crap is just an honest reply by a wideout...if I was on any NFL team playing wideout and asked this question Manning would be my pick.

Two reasons why this is bad.

First, T.O. is a teammate of Romo. Romo is his QB. Even if he believes that Manning is the better QB, you don't say "I wish he was the Cowboy's QB" to the media. This is just bad - for chemistry on the team.

Second, T.O. threw McNabb into his quote. Yes, McNabb. McNabb is both a QB in the division that T.O. plays in, and has been injured twice in the last 2 seasons. That is a slap in the face to Romo.

For these reasons, and with T.O.'s past history, one can infer that the man is back in his cancer mode.

Not really. First he didn't say I want Peyton as my quaterback. He just answered a hypothetical question honestly. Second, Romo hasn't lived the Philly-Dallas rivalry long enough to appreciate it. McNabb never took shots at Dallas so he's not an enemy of the team. (an enemy of the fans? yes) Do I think TO is stupid for answering the question that way? Yes. Do I think he's trying to cause trouble and therefore be a cancer? No. The media didn't even pick up on it, that's how trivial it is.

It's not like he just randomly said this, he was specifically asked: "If you could choose any quarterback in the NFL to be the No. 1 in Dallas, who would it be and why?" He answered with an honest answer. In fact, he said: "Man, that's a tricky question. I don't want to cause trouble..." In all honesty, who the eff is Tony Romo anyway. He had a breakout year and maybe he will end up being a solid NFL QB, but he couldn't hold the jockstraps of Manning or McNabb.

I disagree he was asked an honest question and gave an honest answer. Its not a knock on Tony Romo it just says hes not the most prolific passing QB in the game today

I hate T.O. but I have to agree with Insan and others that T.O. wasn't trying to cause trouble or throw anyone under the bus. He has never been an eloquent speaker so that really needs to be taken into consideration. Aside from that to all the T.O. haters, don't create T.O.isms, T.O. has plenty of time to really make an ass of himself this season, and he will.

Honestly, I don't understand why Eagles fans hate him so much. So what? He caused trouble on the team? Grow a sack, seriously... Who gives a shit. Bottom line is, he performed on the field and was one of the best things that happened to the team in terms of victory. Stop whining and bitching about how he talked shit about your boy McNabb and embrace fine athletism when you see it. Cowboys fans have a right to boo him if we decide to. He sucked it up ON THE FIELD. We could care less about his arguments with the WR coach or Parcells. He cost us a few games because of stupid drops. If those balls were caught we would've gotten a first round bye and skipped the whole fumbled snap mess.

Maybe you can squeek something out of his inclusion of McNabb, but anyone who answered the question "If you could choose any quarterback in the NFL to be the No. 1 in (your city), who would it be and why" with anything but Peyton Manning would be a fool and a liar. If anything, this is an example of 1) TO telling the truth about manning and 2) TO being an adult and admitting he was a jerk vis a vis McNabb. This article is a stretch at best.

This article is really dumb. Here is TO on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live (as per ESPN):

"Did you see the preseason game against Houston? One touch, one touchdown. That's how it's going to be all year long. I'm aiming for 100 catches, 1,500 yards and at least 20 touchdowns. With our quarterback passing the ball, this is entirely possible.

And speaking of my quarterback ... you might as well draft him too, because he's going to the Pro Bowl this year."

Dumb article. TO will put up big numbers because Romo throws his way alot. I doubt Romo really cares about this comment as long as TO shows up on the field, which I bet he will. For Philly fans - you would never have been in that SBowl w/o TO, so get over you division championships, you sound like a Braves fan, oh wait, at least they won a championship during their streak.

I said it before, but I like to repeat myself repeat myself: Owens could personally bring back the head of Osama Bin Laden and lay it on the 50 yard line at the Linc and say "Eagles fans, I did this for you. Will you forgive me?" and they'd boo him.

It seems like media reporters are trying to get a story out of T.O. by asking such a question. Even though it was answered relatively well, it still became worthy of conversation. Cannot blame anyone for that.

No one seems to realize that the person who asked the question stated prior to the question, "aside from Tony Romo..." who would .....So TO didnt "throw anyone under the bus..this is a typical Media driven BS situation where some idiot wants to have something to write about- so they leave out the entire conversation.
