Syl Saumer (Sylvester Saumer) was born on April 30, 1912 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Saumer attended St. Olaf College. Saumer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1934 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 1 year career.
