But everything inside you knows
Says more than what you’ve heard
If you ask most Mets fans the reason that Tom Glavine is not a member of the New York Mets today, they will say that he is not a member of the Mets because he laid an egg in game number 162 against the Marlins. That is wrong, although the game played a part in management’s decision to not even attempt to bring him to Flushing. The reason he is not back is because he showed no emotion in the press conference after and said the loss was not devastating. I know that he is a professional but an “I’m sorry I laid an egg” would endear him to the fans who always considered Tommy an Atlanta Brave in a Met uniform.
So much more than empty conversations
Filled with empty words
Which brings me to Eli Manning who I implore to allow himself to show some emotion. Not fake emotion, or over the type emotion that is contrived like a Chad Johnson TD celebration, but real emotion that tells the fans that he is human and is annoyed with himself when he messes up.
You’re on fire
This week Eli will get the brunt of heavy anti-Giant criticism thrown his way, much of it deserved. I would like to see him come back from the criticism with an eff-you game and tell the critics the same thing much like he did earlier with Tiki.
When he speaks
The game the Giants lost yesterday will make the road to the playoffs all the harder, but, if he can ignite something in Eli that can take him from a stiff quarterback to a much looser quarterback the loss could be the best thing that happens to the Giants.
