Swede Ellstrom (Marvin L. Ellstrom) was born on May 15, 1906 in Moline, Illinois. After going to high school at Moline (IL) and Waynesburg (PA), Ellstrom attended Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa and the University of Oklahoma. Ellstrom made his professional debut in the NFL in 1934 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Chicago Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his 3 year career.
Most people believe that 1934 was Swede Ellstrom's best year.
