Today is the deadline for NFL teams to make the cut down to their final 53 man roster. Most of the players who are getting cut are no suprise but their are some names on the list who are somewhat suprises.
Aaron Glenn was cut by the Cowboys, he is an aging veteran but still has some ability.
Buster Davis was cut by the Cardinals, he is an undersized over acheiving linebacker out of Florida St. who was looked at as a 2nd round pick coming into the draft but fell into the 3rd.
Antonio Pittman was cut by the Saints and appears to be a victim of a crowded backfield. During college he displayed real NFL potential and should latch on somewhere.
Quentin Moses was cut by the Raiders and most reports are that he was just flat out out played by other defensive ends.
Donovan Darius was also cut by the Raiders, he has really fallen from his great days as a Jacksonville Jaguar.
Of some smaller names that were cut that suprised me personally were CJ Gaddis the versatile rookie safety from the Eagles. Josh Houston the kicker formally of the Giants who was expected to win the job over Lawrence Tynes. David Ball was cut by the Bears, he is the type of kid that just flat out comes to play. Tyler Palko was cut by the Saints, he was reportedly impressive in camp and showed some potential in preseason games.
