Suns Rise over Clippers in Game 7

The Los Angeles Clippers season is over, as the Phoenix Suns advanced to the Western Conference Finals, 127-107. Shawn Marion had 30 points and 9 boards for the Suns; NBA MVP Steve Nash added 29 points and 11 dimes. Only seven Suns saw game action, and the team was a ridiculous 15 for 27 (55.6%) from three point land.

Elton Brand put up 36 points and 9 rebounds in the losing effort. No other Clipper crossed the 20 point barrier.

The Suns play the Dallas Mavericks in the Conference Finals, starting Wednesday night, May 24, 2006.

Regardless of the fact that the Clips lost this series, it needs to be said that Elton Brand made an impression on me. Albeit against a much smaller Phoenix team, his numbers were great and he's always been a team player. Elton Brand: the best thing to come out of Duke since Grant Hill, and quite possibly the best Blue Devil when everything's said and done?

EB42 is currently 21st on the NBA's <a href="http://www.b..._career.html">career Player Efficiency Rating list</a>; Grant Hill is 26th, and no other Dukie cracks the Top 100. He still has some years to go, but I think he could go down as the best when all is said and done.

I think this game could have gone the other way had there not be a 3 game break between Game 6 and Game 7.
