Sully Montgomery (James Ralph Montgomery) was born on January 12, 1901 in , TX. After going to high school at North Side (Fort Worth, TX), Montgomery attended Centre College. Montgomery made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Frankford Yellow Jackets and Chicago Cardinals over the course of his 2 year career.
