Stupid Soccer Comercials

This is what bothers me...

I can not stand those stupid soccer comercials where it shows a baseball player swinging a bat and it says "power", then it shows a soccer player kicking a ball and says "power" again, "you're a fan, you just don't know it yet".

Let me tell you, I know I am not a fan.  These commercials are annoying because (to me) a homerun or a slam dunk are fun to watch, but a guy kicking a ball does not make me want to get up and yell "Did you see what he just did? I cant believe it."  It makes me want to say "Change the damn channel."

I'm all for playing soccer (it's good excercise and teaches a sport to our youth), but I hate that they are trying to push for soccer to be one of the major sports in the US.  It just won't work.

BTW, don't bother trying to change my mind, I just don't care for soccer as a US sport.

OK, that commercial was friggin stupid. Never seen it, but it's friggin stupid. Sometimes, the goals are really nice. I'm not a huge fan, but I follow it cuz I'm living in a country where everyone loves soccer (Kuwait), so I have no choice. I agree with you, soccer isn't one of the major sports in the US right now, but it's becoming popular compared to the '90s and early '00s. No sport will ever be more popular than the BIG 3 in the US.

I think that if Joe Buck started commentating soccer games, it would get Americans to like the game more..

The new soccer commercials for Beckham are also pretty laughable. All these British people crying, heartbroken that Becks is crossing the pond, followed by a PACKED HOUSE at an LA Galaxy game, the crowd speckled with Beckham jerseys. All of this accompanied by the "Hello, Goodbye" song also played during Target commercials. Wow.
