Strength of Schedule - NFL - Defensive Lines

by Andersklasen

All right, before I start this one, I'll explain it better. I took the defensive line rankings 1-32 (found here - http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/insider/news/story?id=2935257) then took the schedule of every NFL team, and found the average defensive line ranking of the opponents of every team. The lower the number the harder the schedule. Yes, this is not perfect, but it gives you an idea to whether or not your team will be able to run the ball very well this year.

Once again, the lower the number the tougher the defensive lines they face.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers - 18.3125

2. New Orleans Saints - 18.3125

Yeah, if I recall, there was a thing in ESPN the Magazine that showed how many fantasy passing and running points you could expect from certain teams. Buffalo was projected to score the fewest rushing points and second or third fewest passing points per game if I recall correctly.

I take it Shaun Alexander may not be as good a fantasy play as many thought.

Well, he'll still be good, but he'll play good defensive lines.

It means that he'll play pretty weak defensive lines, not that he'll have a great year.

But check out Willie's schedule for 3 of the final four weeks. @New England, Jacksonville, (St Louis) and @Baltimore.
