Watford recovered from an early goal by League 2 Stockport to run out 4-1 winners and make the draw for the 4th round of the FA Cup. Malky Mackay notched his first of the season just before half-time to send the Hornets in 1-1 at the break. Tommy Smith gave Watford the lead two minutes after the re-start, a second for Mackay and a deserved debut goal from the hard-working Moses Ashikodi, recently signed from Glasgow Rangers completed the rout.

Rangers lost 3-2 to Dunfermline in the Scottish FA Cup, so Mr. Ashikodi made the right choice there. Looked good for Stockport for a while.
