Stinky Cubs - Tigers Launch 8 Out...Rogers gets his 200th

"It doesn't matter if I'm coming back or had been pitching all year, I basically (stunk) today," Mark Prior said. "It's not a good one. But I've got to move on."
The eight homers tied a Detroit Tigers record set June 20, 2000, at Toronto; oh yeah don't forget it matched up with the season high by a Cubs opponent. Atlanta hit eight home runs against Chicago on May 28 (brutal). Has the All- Star Home Run Derby started early, well, the Cubs are making it that way losing their 6th game in a row putting them a whopper of 16 games back.
Prior has had a history of pitching well when coming back from a vacation on the DL, but yesterdays game was not one of those. Prior opened last season on the DL with right elbow inflammation and returned there after being hit in the elbow by a line drive by Colorado's Brad Hawpe on May 27. He pitched six scoreless innings in an 8-3 victory over San Diego in his first start, and retired 18 of 19 batters in six innings and beat the White Sox on June 26.
Ever since Lee went out I havn't seen much of any chance for the Chicago Cubs. Personally I have been to some games and the fans are getting fed up. I can't blame them myself, it's rediculous. Kerry Wood, who started the season on the DL while due to surgury, began the season on the disabled list and returned there on June 9. He might pitch next weekend at Minnesota, but we'll see what happens (as we well know...anything).
