Steve Whitaker (Stephen Edward Whitaker) was born on May 7, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington. He made his Major League debut on August 23, 1966 for the New York Yankees. In 1967, his rookie year, he hit .243 with 11 home runs and 50 RBI. Whitaker played for the New York Yankees, Seattle Pilots and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that Steve Whitaker's best season was 1967, when he knocked in 50 runs.
