Born on July 2, 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Steve Sparks (Steven William Sparks) played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Anaheim Angels, Detroit Tigers, Oakland Athletics and Arizona Diamondbacks over the course of his 9 year career. Sparks broke into the bigs on April 28, 1995 with the Milwaukee Brewers, and put up a 4.63 ERA in 202 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Steve Sparks's best season was 2001, when he posted a 3.65 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 116 batters.
