Born on July 30, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, Steve Trout (Steven Russell Trout) played for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners over the course of his 12 year career. Trout broke into the bigs on July 1, 1978 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.89 ERA in 155 innings pitched in 1979, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Steve Trout's best season was 1984, when he posted a 3.41 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 81 batters.
