Born on August 13, 1903 in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, Steve Swetonic (Stephen Albert Swetonic) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 5 year career. Swetonic broke into the bigs on April 17, 1929 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 4.82 ERA in 143.2 innings pitched in 1929, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Steve Swetonic's best season was 1932, when he posted a 2.82 ERA and won 11 games.
