Born on December 10, 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas, Steve Renko (Steven Renko) played for the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics, Boston Red Sox, California Angels and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 15 year career. Renko broke into the bigs on June 27, 1969 with the Montreal Expos, and put up a 4.01 ERA in 103.1 innings pitched in 1969, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Steve Renko's best season was 1973, when he posted a 2.81 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 164 batters.
