Born on December 17, 1967 in Joliet, Illinois, Steve Parris (Steven Michael Parris) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Devil Rays over the course of his 8 year career. Parris broke into the bigs on June 21, 1995 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 5.38 ERA in 82 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Steve Parris's best season was 1999, when he posted a 3.50 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 86 batters.
