Steve Mott (Walter Stephen Mott) was born on March 24, 1961 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After going to high school at Archbishop Shaw (Marrero, LA), Mott attended the University of Alabama. Mott made his professional debut in the NFL in 1983 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 6 year career.
