Born on December 25, 1970 in Westminster, California, Steve Montgomery (Steven Lewis Montgomery) played for the Oakland Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres over the course of his 4 year career. Montgomery broke into the bigs on April 3, 1996 with the Oakland Athletics, and put up a 3.34 ERA in 64.2 innings pitched in 1999, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Steve Montgomery's best season was 1999, when he posted a 3.34 ERA and struck out 55 batters.
