Steve Lawson (Stephen Wendell Lawson) was born on January 4, 1949 in Athens, Georgia. After going to high school at Mount Carmel (Chicago, IL), Lawson attended the University of Kansas. Lawson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played for the Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1976 was Steve Lawson's best year.
