Steve Hammond (Steven Reed Hammond) was born on February 5, 1960 in Hartford, Connecticut. After going to high school at Sanford H. Calhoun (Merrick, NY), Hammond attended Wake Forest University. Hammond made his professional debut in the NFL in 1988 with the New York Jets. He played for the New York Jets for his entire 1 year career.
