Born on November 30, 1935 in Columbia, Kentucky, Steve Hamilton (Steven Absher Hamilton) played for the Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 12 year career. Hamilton broke into the bigs on April 23, 1961 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 3.77 ERA in 107.1 innings pitched in 1962, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Steve Hamilton's best season was 1965, when he posted a 1.39 ERA and struck out 51 batters.
