Steve Filipowicz (Stephen Charles Filipowicz) was born on June 28, 1921 in Donora, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on September 3, 1944 for the New York Giants. Filipowicz played for the New York Giants and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 3 year career.

Filipowicz also played two years in the NFL with the New York Giants. Most people believe that 1946 was Steve Filipowicz's best year in the NFL, as he picked off 4 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
