Steve Evans (Louis Richard Evans) was born on February 17, 1885 in Cleveland, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1908 for the New York Giants. In 1909, his rookie year, he hit .259 with 2 home runs and 56 RBI. Evans played for the New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Tip-Tops and Baltimore Terrapins over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Steve Evans's best season was 1914, when he hit for a .348 average and knocked in 96 runs.
