Steve DeLong (Steven Cyril DeLong) was born on July 3, 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia. After going to high school at Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA), DeLong attended the University of Tennessee. DeLong made his professional debut in the AFL in 1965 with the San Diego Chargers. He played in the AFL for 5 years, playing for the San Diego Chargers the entire time. DeLong also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the San Diego Chargers and Chicago Bears over the course of his 3 year NFL career.

Most people believe that 1970 was Steve DeLong's best year.
