Born on February 22, 1938 in Takoma Park, Maryland, Steve Barber (Stephen David Barber) played for the Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, Seattle Pilots, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, California Angels and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 15 year career. Barber broke into the bigs on April 21, 1960 with the Baltimore Orioles, and put up a 3.22 ERA in 181.2 innings pitched in 1960, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Steve Barber's best season was 1963, when he posted a 2.75 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 180 batters.
