Steve Braun (Stephen Russell Braun) was born on May 8, 1948 in Trenton, New Jersey. He made his Major League debut on April 6, 1971 for the Minnesota Twins. In 1971, his rookie year, he hit .254 with 5 home runs and 35 RBI. Braun played for the Minnesota Twins, Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 15 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Steve Braun's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1975, when he hit for a .302 average. However, others believe that it was 1976, when he hit for a .288 average and knocked in 61 runs.
