Steve Bilko (Stephen Thomas Bilko) was born on November 13, 1928 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on September 22, 1949 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1953, his rookie year, he hit .251 with 21 home runs and 84 RBI. Bilko played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that Steve Bilko's best season was 1953, when he slugged 21 home runs and knocked in 84 runs.
