Steve Baumgartner (Steven John Baumgartner) was born on March 26, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. After going to high school at Benet Academy (Lisle, IL), Baumgartner attended Purdue University. Baumgartner made his professional debut in the NFL in 1973 with the New Orleans Saints. He played for the New Orleans Saints and Houston Oilers over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1975 was Steve Baumgartner's best year.
