On March 17, 2005, seven Major League Baseball players (including United States Senator Jim Bunning) and commissioner Bud Selig testified in front of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform. The panel was entitled: "Restoring Faith in America's Pastime: Evaluating Major League Baseball's Efforts to Eradicate Steroid Use."
Testifying at the hearing, in order of appearance, were Jose Canseco, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, Mark McGwire, Curt Schilling, and Frank Thomas.
