Steroid Investigation: Just END IT!!

Is there any reason why there's still this Mitchell Investigation. Or any steroid investigation at all? All we are doing is naming names who in years before used steroids. Well guess what, I don't care! I just want there to be the game of baseball.
Why don't they just work to get rid of the roids, not find people who have used them and publicly state the names? I mean I don't think we need some investigation for the 99.99% of America out there some sort of proof they are right about Bonds using steroids. America already thinks he's done the roids. The only proof they can get for Bonds is finding nothing, and America still won't believe them. There's already the perception he did it, just let it go.
Finding other players who did it long before is going to do nothing to help this cause. It's just naming users from years past, and their stoppage of using them like 2-3 years ago. I mean, look at Ankiel. He apparently stopped the shipments at like 2004, 3 years before 2007, the year he was breaking out. In 2004, he sucked. In 2007, he's better. A little strange yes but is there any proof he's taking the roids now? If there isn't, let it go. Stop trying to find past users, they're HISTORY. Are they going to punish them 2-3 years later? So far, they haven't. How many now-a-day users have been caught, not many. They're too busy finding old users, trying to get every single past person using the steroids. Why not get the users doing them now? I mean, the past should have been dealt with in the past, not now. Don't name names now. Don't look for people then.
If baseball's goal is to get away from the steroid era, catch those doing it now, to stop them now. Don't stop Giambi from using it maybe 5 years ago. Fans will have their own opinions on them whether they're correct or not. We already do with Barry Bonds. What's the point of this investigation? There's no goal other than to look baseball in the face and say "look at all you fakers!" Really, this is just showing baseball screwed up in the past and are continuing to screw this up. Aren't they paying a million dollars a day on this worthless investigation? Seriously, the past is in the past, worry about the players now. Catch the now users, not the old ones.
Put the steroid era to bed!!
