Born on April 29, 1971 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Sterling Hitchcock (Sterling Alex Hitchcock) played for the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 13 year career. Hitchcock broke into the bigs on September 11, 1992 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 4.70 ERA in 168.1 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Sterling Hitchcock's best season was 1999, when he posted a 4.11 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 194 batters.
