Steinbach Added to Arrested Bengals List

And then there were five.

Cincinnati Bengals guard Eric Steinbach was arrested and charged with boating under the influence on the Ohio River, becoming the fifth Cincinnati player in just three months accused of breaking the law.

Steinbach was stopped by an officer from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources because he was violating an idle-only zone this past Saturday night, according to agency spokesman. Steinbach then failed a series of field sobriety tests.

Steinbach was released from the Campbell County jail in Newport, KY after posting bond and was to appear in court today.

Steinbach was a first alternate for the Pro Bowl last season. He started all 16 regular-season games and a playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was part of the offensive line that allowed a club record of only 21 sacks.

Bad Boys: Other Bengals in Trouble:
Wide Receiver Chris Henry - Five different counts
Defensive End Frostee Rucker - Spousal Battery
Linebacker A.J. Nicholson - Burglary and Grand Theft
Defensive Tackle Matthias Askew - Resisting Arrest
Linebacker Odell Thurman - Substance Abuse

I bet the other guys on the list just love the fact that their name and transgressions keep coming up every time someone else gets in trouble. They'll never be able to shake their screws ups at this rate.

Think about the TrailBlazers. They have rid themselves of all the former "Jail Blazers" but are still constantly called that. Their only "Jail Blazer" is Zach and every team in the NBA has at least one player who's been arrested or trouble the with law. Still, the Bengals situation doesn't even compare to Portland during its worst. The Blazers had 'Sheed, Bonzi, Damon, Zach, Ruben and Qyntel all on the same team, all had had trouble in the past. That's six players on a roster of 15 while the Bengals have six on their roster and football rosters have many more players.
