Steal of the NBA Draft

by user Joshkross

There were a lot of winners and losers at the draft, but the one most frequently overlooked was the fantastic luck/intelligence once again displayed by the champion San Antonio Spurs. They sat there and waited. And waited. And who fell into their lap?

Tiago Splitter (Far right below)

Tiago, if it wasn't for his ridiculous Spanish buyout clause I'd be a lottery pick the last 4 years, Splitter

7 feet (Almost). Plays big. Is big. Is good.

Remember a few years ago? David Robinson was getting old. In comes Tim Duncan. We get the Twin Towers.

He could very well be the Duncan to Tim Duncan's Admiral. Duncan is still not that old, and this Spurs team is better, which means Splitter doesn't even need to be as good as Duncan was. The Admiral was Drafted in 87. Duncan 10 years later in 97. Ten years later, they get Splitter in '07.

The West dominance isn't going to end anytime soon. And the Spurs are going to make sure they maintain their dominance.

The steal of the draft was when Portland picked up Taurean Green from Florida.

I refuse to believe that Atlanta could do anything intelligent enough to be considered a steal. We'll see

I'm tellin you, they turned a page. They got the new uniforms and everything. They're going to become my second favorite team during the times the Knicks suck (which is pretty much every year) if the Hawks don't do something stupid in the off-season.

You mean the new logo that is the morphing of the Falcons, Louisville Cardinals and Arizona Cardinals logos? I guess the other reason I wouldn't count him as a steal is that I think he went around around where he should have gone. If he had gone in the 20s or lower, then it would be a steal.

Nah, I think when its all said and done, when they do those "Re-doing the 2007 NBA Draft" articles, Acie Law is going to be 3rd.
