Stars Double Up The Flames, 4-2

Wednesday Night at American Airlines Center, the Dallas Stars defeated the Calgary Flames, 4-2. With the win, the Stars started their first winning streak of 2007 and won their last home game before the All-Star Break.
Three minute into the first period, Jere Lehtinen scored the first goal of the game, giving the Stars the early lead, 1-0.
Eleven minutes later, the Flames tied the game at 1-1 as Kristian Huselius scored a power play goal.
After both team ended the first period tied, the Stars jumped to a 3-1 led in the middle of the 2nd period. Joel Lundqvist scored his 1st NHL career goal six minutes into the 2nd period and then doubled their advantage two minutes later, as Stu Barnes added to the Stars lead, scoring the eventual game winner.
The Flames made a comeback attempt, as Stephane Yelle scored eleven minutes into the he third period, trimming the Stars lead to 3-2.
Yet, Dallas was able to douse the Flames as they scored an insurance goal forty nine seconds from regulation, as Jere Lehtinen scored a Power Play/Empty Net Goal, sealing the victory for the hosts.
For the Stars, one more game before the All-Star Break awaits as they travel to Minnesota on Saturday to face the Wild.
Notes:
Special Teams: Both teams scored a power play goal in the game, but only an empty net allowed the Stars to cash in on the extra man advantage.
Had the game ended in a Stars 3-2 victory, it would have been the first victory since December 23rd vs. Edmonton where the team didn't score a Power Play Goal.
Injury Woes Continue:
Both Jeff Halpern and Philippe Boucher sat out tonight's game, scratched for the lineup and turning the injury list to 8 players.
As a result, Niklas Grossman has been recalled and played in Wednesday's Game vs. the Flames.
