Born on November 28, 1874 in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, Stan Yerkes (Stanley Lewis Yerkes) played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 3 year career. Yerkes broke into the bigs on May 3, 1901 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.66 ERA in 272.2 innings pitched in 1902, his rookie year.
