Born on December 15, 1944 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Stan Bahnsen (Stanley Raymond Bahnsen) played for the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics, Montreal Expos, Philadelphia Phillies and California Angels over the course of his 16 year career. Bahnsen broke into the bigs on September 9, 1966 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 2.05 ERA in 267.1 innings pitched in 1968, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Stan Bahnsen's best season was 1968, when he posted a 2.05 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 162 batters.
