Stamps Have Big Hole In Clark Injury

During last week's loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the Calgary Stampeders lost three defensive players, DE Rahim Abdullah, LB Cam Yeow and the defensive captain LB Brian Clark to injury.
The major loss was that of Clark. When he went down, and the subsequent injury to his understudy, Yeow, the majority of the defense had to be moved around to accommodate.
Clark will need at least a week to heal from a pulled hamstring. Although, defensive co-ordinator, Denny Creehan, wouldn't be surprised to see Clark on the sidelines on Friday. Creehan commented, "He heals fast and he's tougher than nails. It's going to take a lot to keep him out of the game, so he ain't going to miss much."
But in all likelihood, Clark will not be in uniform on Friday as the Stamps host the British Columbia Lions. Although, I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the sidelines to offer support.
The man to fill the shoes of Clark will be the one that the team calls C.A., second-year LB Cornelius Anthony. Look for him to be consulting with Clark often on the sidelines.
"Cornelius is a doggone good football player and he'll play well. And those guys know he'll play well, so they don't have to worry about doing extra stuff just because Brian's not there", said Creehan.
But no one really knows how the kid will do under fire. The Lions have a potent offense and this will be a real trial by fire for him. I just hope that Anthony will do his job well enough to help get the Stamps the win.
