Springer Moments in the NFL?

by Fantola

News broke today that Pittsburgh RB Najeh Davenport has been charged with domestic violence, endangering his children, and unlawful restraint. Cleveland police received 3 9-1-1 phone calls from Davenport's house (which is apparently at 1374 E. 115 Street, if you'd like to visit) between 8:45pm and 9:02pm tonight. The incident was apparently a dispute between Dookie and his baby's mama, Anita Person, over a custody issue. Davenport could face over 2 years in jail if convicted. He is being given time to turn himself in.

The Steelers are on a bye in Week 6 anyway.

Meanwhile, over in Minneapolis...

Viking DE Erasmus James and RB Chester Taylor got into a fight. Apparently James punched Taylor, leaving him with a shiner. Taylor countered by throwing a chair at James, who has been added to the injury report with a shoulder injury.

Brad Childress called a team meeting afterwards.

Fantola - Make your mom proud and give it a visit.

This is a reason why Roger Goodell is the commish,I guarentee that in 5-10 years the amount of law-breaking activity will not be around.

Roger Goodell is full of crap. There is no other way to put it. He is cracking down, but it will not change anything. In addition his unequal treatment of management vs. players will not last.

Not all management gets off light; just the marquee guys. Wade Wilson got hammered, too.

This behavior starts when the players are young.

In certain areas, in Jr High and High School, no one enforces the rules of society when dealing with these kids. As long as you can tote the rock, some teachers and administrators look the other way. They grow to have a sense of entitlement and privilege.

It does these players a dis-service
