Spring sold

Watford have today announced the £200k sale of midfielder Matthew Spring to arch rivals Luton Town.
Spring began his career with the Scum, sorry, Hatters, and was a popular player in his time at The Kennel. Once reviled at Vicarage Road after scoring a spectacular 25 yard effort for L***n to knock the Hornets out of the cup, he soon became a terrace hero for the Hornets after his transfer from Leeds in the Summer of 2005.
Spring was instrumental in the Hornets rise up the league to an eventual promotion last season and weighed in with some important goals during the campaign. He always looked a class player, capable of making the step up to Premier League football but has failed to get a regular start for Aidy Bootrhroyds side this season.
It looks like the Rookery will no longer be bouncing to the sounds of "Oh Springy Springy, he used to be a scummer but he's alright now". We thought we'd cured him, but it seems that, like Kerry Dixon, once a scummer always a scummer.
Obviously Spring deserved good luck wishes from the Horns for his massive influence last year, but obviously not good enough luck to keep the scum in the Championship next season.
