Sport McAllister (Lewis William McAllister) was born on July 23, 1874 in Austin, Mississippi. He made his Major League debut on August 7, 1896 for the Cleveland Spiders. In 1897, his rookie year, he hit .219 with 0 home runs and 11 RBI. McAllister played for the Cleveland Spiders, Detroit Tigers and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Sport McAllister's best season was 1901, when he hit for a .301 average and knocked in 57 runs.
